cat carrier, 2008-07-16 I like it however it is heavier than the other cat carrier I possess so I have to put my smaller female in the new one.

Nice carrier but it has a major construction problem, 2008-06-29 We bought this carrier to transport our cat between the truck and RV. The carrier is very nice but, there is a construction flaw in the supports sewn into the carrier. When we opened the carrier for the first time, we found that both supports were already broken. Apparently when the carrier was packaged, the ends were forced down to fit into the shipping box and both supports were broken at that time. Since we were leaving on a trip in a couple days, we did not have the time to return the item but instead fixed the problem by using wooden dowels. I notice several other complaints listed about the same problem. Hopefully someone will take the time and effort to address this issue.

Good - with a few problems, 2008-06-03 I bought two of these carriers - because of the reviews and because they looked to be a slightly updated copy of a Sherpa carrier I've had and enjoyed using for years. And because I have two more kitties that now need safe and comfortable carriers.
There were a few problems with one of the carriers and some differences between these and my older Sherpa carrier:
The zippers are a bit cheaper - the top zipper on one of the carriers had a slider that didn't close the teeth correctly, so they came open with the slightest touch. I squeezed the slider a bit with a pair of pliers and bent it enough that it started working correctly. All of the other zippers worked fine.
The two plastic rods that support the top have been getting some attention in a few of these reviews and are, as mentioned, quite cheap and easily breakable. Both rods in one of the carriers were "warped" and wouldn't straighten out. Luckily, they were easily replaceable. I came up with an excellent solution - one I wish the manufacturer would adopt. I had some fiberglass tent pole sections from an old tent. Each section was the exact length of the plastic rods and fit perfectly into the rod sleeves. These are very strong, don't easily flex, but will without breaking. Using these, the top will support the weight of either (or both) of my 10-pound kitties.
One of the floor boards was warped badly. I ended up having to break it and re-glue it in order to get it to lay flat. This was the same carrier with the bad zipper and the warped plastic rods, by the way. Perhaps this was a return or represents a bad day at the factory. The other carrier was in excellent shape.
The fluffy pad, while a bit thin, attaches firmly to the floor board and doesn't slide around. The floor board can be fixed to the bottom of the carrier with included Velcro attachments. This is a good idea and is another improvement over my Sherpa carrier.
Even with the minor problems I had with one of the two carriers, I'd recommend this carrier - It's a great step up from the plastic/metal-door carriers. The top opening is a wonderful time saver if you have a cat that just won't go through the front opening (like my older cat).

Excellent for travel, 2008-06-02 We travelled to Seattle on a 2.5 hour plane, even though we bought it for our cat, we used it for our shih tzu puppy at 9 lbs now, he fit in there no problem, from the time we left home till we get to the hotel, he was in there for about 7 hours, didn't hear any complains from him, it was only a little heavy though, we actually took the bag into restaraunts as we don't want to leave him in the car, and nobody knew it was a dog inside, afterall, worth the price, makes traveling with him a breeze.

very nice carrier, 2007-12-25 I have both this and the Sherpa carrier. I like the Sherpa just a little bit better, but this one is very nice too, and you can't beat the price!
My two cats are split -- one loves the Sherpa, the other one loves this one. LOL. At least they don't fight over the carrier.
